Day 38
Not sure if this was some deep philosophical meaning, or just instructions to the farmer, who was sowing cabbages round the corner....

Bit foggy for the last few days while some of you have been enjoying 18 degrees of sunshine!
So, Day 42, spent the day in the office then relaxed at home with a coffee..

Day 43, still foggy, but this is an improved view of Margate!:naughty:

St Augustines Cross
5535463581_8372ba5ba6_b.jpg

Ok, heres a bit of culture about the monument situated in Cottington Road, near Cliffsend, Thanet.

St. Augustine landed at Ebbsfleet in Thanet in 597AD, on a mission to bring Christianity to Britain. This cross stands at the spot where, it is believed, Augustine first met King Ethelbert, whom he later converted to Christianity. The Celtic-style cross is almost seven metres (23 feet) high, and was erected in 1884 by Lord Granville, head of the Privy Council, and his committee.

Day 46 and a bit of an abstract theme for a rainy day.
It was dripping water outside so I thought I would try some dripping water, inside.

I liked the reversing water droplets! ( view full size)

Hi, Alan, #36 is fantastic. What really makes it for me is the plaster on the guy's cheek!

Great composition on #41 and well processed.

#44, holy crap that's one big, wide lens!

Cheers.

Thanks. I enjoyed getting no 36.
We were in a car park opposite Manston Airport. These guys turned up and started eating their lunch from huge tupperware boxes with knives and forks.
I set the camera up on the passenger seat, set the focus then put it on the timer. I walked round the car and opened the passenger door.
I guess they spotted the camera as it went off.

Day 47
"Super Moon"
Apparently, the moon is closer than it has been since 1992. So, I had to get a shot. Unfortunately, my Leica with its 36mm lens didnt really do it justice, so I used my Nikon D200 with 80-200 ƒ2.8 lens for this shot.

Day 52

Looking out over Pegwell Bay from a cave in the cliffs. Pfizer is across the bay, they are closing down with the loss of over 2500 jobs. Plans are afoot to use the buildings for other smaller industries to set up.

Day 54. Great plans for today. I was going to wait till nightfall and take a picture of Canterbury Cathedral from the University while it was all lit up.
Unfortunately, just as i turned up, they turned off the lights!
It was almost midnight when I got home, so, still needing a photo for today, I took this one as I pulled up outside the house.

Not very exciting, but at least I am still on target. Must get out earlier......

Day 55.
So, it was such a nice day I decided to mow the lawn. Started off with the strimmer and within minutes, I heard that familiar "bang......crackle crackle.. :gag:."
Conservatory window #3, this is becoming an expensive habit...... :bang::bang:

Anyway, it made an interesting picture for today!

Hi, Allan, #48, nniicceee beers there. Nice one with the trickle of water in the center bottle...

Now that's one mangy dog in #50...hope it's not yours...

Cheers.

Thanks, the middle bottle had been in the fridge. Mmmm cold beer......
The dog wasn't mine, nor, unfortunately, was the car, I think they were both the same age though.

Day 57.
Lots of mist about today. Thought I'd try a cross processing effect, so here it is.
Irrigation channel at Chambers Wall, St Nicholas at Wade.

Really enjoying your thread. great pictures. 36 is my fav so far. So So funny.

Thanks Joe, my favourite too. They were great!
Day 58. Busy ploughing at St Nicholas.

And, Day 59.

I heard the a Russian cargo plane was arriving at Manston to pick up some high value cars. I caught it just before it set off. Of course, at this distance with the 35mm lens on my X1, you wouldnt have seen it. So, this was taken with my D200 and 80-200mm ƒ2.8.
Good old solid Russian engineering, built in 1962 and still going strong. Good job its using one of the longest runways in the UK, it seemed to take an age to get airborne!
Its an Aerovis Airlines Antonov An12AP. reg U R - CCP,

Hiya Allan,

Just popped past to have a peek at your 365 and wow I have enjoyed looking at your photos.

Great job here and well done on keep up too, you have some fantastic shots. Especially like the cow and the daff shots.

I'll pop past now and again, in between all my activities to see how you are doing and give you some encouragement.

I am also doing a personal 365 (which I am currently trying to bring up-to-date). Not hosting here on TP, but rather on my Flickr page if you fancy popping past some time to check it out or for some ideas.

Keep up the brilliant work.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks Dawn
I try to get to see all the 365's and 52's, always good to see what others are doing.
So this is todays, Day 62, my binoculars.

I'd like to say the camera just went off when I picked it up, but, this took quite a while using manual focus on a rear lcd in wind and bright sunshine. Not an ideal combination, but I was pleased with the result.

Hi, Allan, wow that's one funky shop. I had to Google it to see some more photographs and it's definitely a great photographic opportunity.

I did like the portrait style photographs but with yours you can really make out the writing and door. I cropped it to just above the 'a very old house....' and it did seem to add to the overall impact.

I like the symmetry of the field photograph.

b&w gate has character but I think I'd like to see it much clsoer up.

Cheers.

Thanks Andy.
The shop is wonderful, I used to go there often. I did a few portrait shots too, but there is building work going on round the right hand corner and if you dont crop it, there is a builders van, traffic cones and steel mesh fencing close by. Too much to clone out.
I wanted to leave the flower box in to add to the leaning effect but I know what you mean about the tighter crop adding impact.

Day 63.
Goodyear Blimp flying over Manston Airport.

Hi Allan, I have just spent a few minutes looking through your 365 for the first time, and firstly a big well done for doing so well. You have a great range of photographs that I have enjoyed looking through, all excellent, keep up the good work!

Thanks Michael. Its a bit of a challenge but great fun

Heres todays, Day 64. Another shot of the Goodyear blimp at Manston, this time tethered with its support vehicle nearby but out of shot. This was with my Leica X1, ISO100, 1/400th at ƒ5

Day 66.
I think these little critters are Turnstones....or Plovers.....
They were waiting for the tide to go out. Taken with my iPhone 4 ( forgot the camera) so IQ isnt too hot!

Day 67, just along the coast, this is a view of Ramsgate and Pegwell from the nature reserve. Boy, it was hot!

Hi, Allan, I spent a few minutes moving my laptop back and forth with your day 62, great fun :cuckoo: and nice photograph, I wonder if you can calculate the magnification of the camera and binoculars??

Day 64 is nice and sharp. Looks a bit dark? and I think it may improve with the planes at the left cropped out.

Day 66, first thing I thought was "I'm glad the ship wasn't cropped out!", it really adds depth to the photograph.

Cheers.

Thanks for the comments.
I've cropped day 64 as you suggested. I agonised over leaving the planes in but I see what you mean and took your advice. I turned the brightness up a bit too.

Day 68
This is Alfriston Post Office in East Sussex.

Sunday, Day 69 and a gardening day.......
5605935513_6834fa6bd7_z.jpg

Could have done with a bit more contrast I think..

And Day 70

I came across this while at work. I liked the pictures on the upper walls. Apparently, they are listed. There are 3 others similar but this was the best looking.
Taken on my iPhone 4

Day 71.
Spent the day photographing and inspecting these beach huts at Whitstable. What a job eh... and they pay me!

Day 73. Someone has way too much money. This was a private charter that flew in today with 5 passengers. Nice....

Day 74. On the front at Herne Bay, these seagulls were flying up with whelks and dropping them on the rocks below. As soon as they let go they dived down for the goodies.

Hi Allan, day 66, you were correct, they are Turnstones. A further great set of images there. I really like days 69 and 70, as you say maybe a little more contrast on day 69, and excellent timing with the gull.
