How about some GUN TALK!
Any photos to post?

Here's a little compilation shot I did for my 'baby'. She has just started shooting and I had not long started back into photography, hence the picture isn't all it could be.

For my part I've owned various guns for the last 40 years. Shot target small bore, full bore, police pistol, practical pistol, black powder and clay. These day's my best friend is a Beretta Silver Pigeon :) :)

No pictures of me shooting though, cant quite manage the camera and the gun at the same time  But somewhere I have some pictures of me many, many, years ago with an army youth team, getting stuck into a 1000 round belt of 7.62 mm and a GPMG. Now that was fun

Sold all my shotguns a few years back... sorry. :) The pride of my collection was a William Powell Sidelock side by side, made in 1870 in it's original oak and leather case.

I was never really into pistol and rifle shooting so I'll leave you guys to get knee deep in spent cases.

By the looks of things it might be better not to mess with her eh?
Will see if I can get a few decent shots of shooters at our local club on Saturday. We had some severe floods and the range (being down in a valley) doesn't look too good!

Have been shootinG mostly Browning Hi Power since 95 on and off but recently got meself a Bul M5 Hi capacity .40 S&W.If only I can get the thing licensed soon:bang:
Will take some pix of my babies soon, promise:thumbs:

CT Before you leave I must share with you something so sad I felt like crying like a baby.
Since our new fire arms control act has been phased in lately(it's not all bad but driven by%$@*&$(%#@ bleeding heart liberals, anti gun campaigners and other....ermmm well ....people...)

You should have seen the vast quantities of IMMACULATE rifles and shotguns that were handed in for destruction as the owners were simmply not willing to renew their licenses under the new act:eek:  .
OVER/under and side by side shotguns by the dozens and all with the most fantastic engraving and looking like they came from the factory this morning...

Oh where is my kleenex:shake:

You should try living in the UK .

Camera owner == Child Molester.

Gun owner == Child Killer.

They changed the gun laws again here a couple of years back to outlaw air guns that use precharged cartridges. It meant that you had to get a Firearms certificate for an air gun . My mate had to hand in £400 of air pistol to the police because he couldn't afford the secure gun cabinet etc required by the certificate

Tell me about it... we've gone through much the same here. A mate of mine in the Firearms Dept who was also a shooter, had a shotgun to routinely dispose of along with loads of others. West Mids Police had a system where they just went into a furnace by arrangement with a local foundry. This particular gun was a Purdey and worth several thousand pounds. He tried his best to reason with the chain of command arguing they could sell it and put the money to good use. All to no avail.. into the furnace it went. :bang:

It's inevitable that things would tighten up given the awful shootings we've had over here, but you can't legislate against people gong nuts!

All these restrictions of course have had no effect on criminal use of firearms and shootings seem to be well on the increase, almost a commonplace occurance now.

That's what I objected to most, the kneejerk reaction of the politicians, and public, to a madman. Might as well ban cars, tractors, anything with the potential to kill in fact. (Edit I mentioned tractors due to a school mate of mine taking one through the local town square and driving over the police car trying to stop him :cuckoo:  )

But back to the point, I got my first shotgun when I was 10 years old, a single shot bolt action .410, lovely little gun, fairly accurate and great for working with a couple of ferrets. When I was 12/13 he considered he'd trained me well enough in handling to trust me to go out myself. I can just imagine that happening now

At 14 I had an old russian Baikal 12 bore side by side, the recoil just about put you on your back.

Dad had various rifles from a BSA .22 to a remington .222 which was used for deer and foxes. Both were handed in when the new laws were introduced although he still has a secure cabinet for his shotguns.

The story of that Purdy is unbelievable :(

Put me down as another shooter...

Not done much with shotguns, mostly rifles as I am stalker...Also played with pistols along while ago plus other "interesting" stuff.....

Used to be a shooter, 12g russian shotgun, you could knock fence posts in with it :bonk:.

1 x martini .22 rifle, 1 x .303 enfield

1 x parker hale 1200tx 7.62 rilfe. (this was sex in a barrel) I can remember shooting at bisley on the 1200 yard range with just battle sights and actually hitting the target and getting a decent group for the distance.

Once my renwals came up I found I wasn't going enough therefore thought there was no justification of keeping weapons and enough ammo in the house to start a revolution. So I gave them to pops in law.

Sad to hear about all these firearms going South:thumbsdown:

I now also have an enfield/parker hale 303 which comes from my paternal grandpa , a .22lr oberndorf Mauser and 1 or 2 others with which to start jumping the hoops:bang:

Must admit that I'm not much good with long guns though...

Combat pistol shooting is more my thing.
promise to post some pix of our weekly shoot on sat tomorrow.

I got to go to a shooting range a few years ago and tried out a few rifiles, also managed to fire off a couple of rounds of some ammo that was shorlty to be made illegal because it was too powerful so they had to be all used up, bloody hell that made my shoulder hurt.

The only guns I use now are made up of pixels, for hand to hand combat I prefer my ForceFX lightsaber, its not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon for a more civilised age.
