All sigma lenses with HSM.....

will autofocus on Nikon bodys which don't have a motor in them.

Is this true or false?

If it is true.
I assume this lens. The Sigma APO DG HSM 70-200mm F2.8 EX will auto focus on my Nikon D5000 yeah?

I wouldn't worry too much about it...

Sigma lenses compatiable with D5000 will help you with compatible fitting lenses for your Nikon....

Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nikon_F-mount_lenses_with_integrated_autofocus_motors is a complete list of compatible lenses....

Sigma have a habit of sticking random letters and numbers after lenses at certain points in time.
It will work fine with your D5000
