Yes
I'm now just deciding what to replace it with

I had an A99 that I used a lot

as well as an A77 and an RX100 that I hardly used

Really I only need one camera, and I always wanted to get a camera from the A7 series, so this is my chance.

Just after any feedback from people that have moved from the A99 to the A7, or indeed any other suggestions of brand/model that would compete with the A99/A7 for a similar price.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that, hope you were insured :(

yes all insured luckily

I almost fell foul of some very vague policy wording though, I had a limit for high risk items, that in the policy did not mention cameras.
Come claim time I was told that they are counted and the specified items are just for an example! Luckily I was there or thereabouts with my limit anyway but worth noting for anyone else out there!

Awful. Sorry can't recommend any gear as I am a Canon user.

It depends on what sort of photography you do.

The A7 series are nice cameras, but do not have the speed and tracking capabilities that the SLT cameras (A77, A77II, A99, A99II) have, and, if you are using them with larger, heavier lenses, you may find the balance of camera to lens is not so good.

Having said that, the recent G master lenses, Zeiss batis, etc are all work very well with teh A7 series bodies.

Sorry to hear of your burglary. It has happened to me 4 times - you get used to it after a while = NOT! Luckily I did not loose much of value, the fact that one of the burglars was later convicted of Attempted Murder and another of actual Murder (during a subsequent burglary) did concern me a little:( to say the least!

Unfortunately I can offer no sensible help with the Sony A7 series. I have tried the A7R and A7R2 but they are just no good for the bulk of my photography (wildlife) - nice sensors though!

It will take a while before your home really feels YOURS again - but it will happen, hopefully it will not take long. All my best wishes.

Something to note there. I have mine insured on the house policy as it also covers away from home, but it only covers items to £500, so camera bodies, lenses etc would fall foul of this unless they are mentioned items.
On the bright side, I now have listed (and stored) all my serial numbers

Crikey, I bet you are hoping mad. I would be.

Hope you are not affected in any other way other than the loss of good gear.

Yes concur with serial numbers etc, but that doesn't help in the short run.

Good luck................ and hope the thieves are caught and get their deserve:tumbleweed:
