Wonder if anyone can confirm if the use an all in-one printer and are they happy with results. The farther-in law is looking for one. Also needs to able to print to card. I did recommend he should look for a dedicated printer to do this but he after an all in-one.. Let me know what you guys/girls use?

I bought a Canon MG6150 last year and am very happy with the prints from it. Not sure if that model is still available,
 
They can be pretty good, if your not selling fine art prints and just want fairly good prints for home then they are good enough. I still have an Epson DX4200 and was happy with that though its quite an old model and no doubt better available now.
 
I have an HP all in one that I use for everything except photos. As it takes the paper in at the front and then folds it back on itself to actually print it has problems with card or thick photo paper (on the times I have used it to print photos)
Not sure if they still make them like that but it may be worth keeping in mind while you are looking.

Well seeing as the OP says it needs to be able to print to card, i guess your suggestion is not too helpful?

My point was - Do NOT buy a printer that folds the paper back on itself. :)
