Alienbees triggers

Their lights work on the US power system and they do not supply to the UK

get a transformer and they work. It can still work out cheaper.

strobist fans should know this.

Thanks for the links and info...

I believe they can be battery powered too...

Yes, they do ship to the UK although I believe they no longer supply in 240v.

Alienbees is part of White Lightening, a middle-range manufacturer/importer with a very good reputation for customer service.

The products are very popular, especially with beginners who have nothing to compare them too, and although there are concerns about build quality (especially with the ring flash) and with some of the output figures they quote, they're well worth considering

I've just been reading about white lightning and AB's, the prices seem very reasonable indeed, despite import duties and delivery charges.

What kind of transformer would one have to get to make everything work safely? and where from?

Try these links.

Then swap the plug off the AB's to the 110v type and away you go.

These transformers are plenty for flash togging.

Just a thought, if one was interested in a head and pack set up as opposed to mono lights, would the transformer from screw fix still be the same bit o kit I would need?
