I am trying the free trial download of this plugin. Nice and easy to use and good effect but seems somewhat over priced.

I believe you can get similar effect with Gaussian blur and layer masks albeit might take longer.

Have I got this correct ? or am I missing something that would justify the $199 price tag ?

It does come wirh a lot of presets and IMHO does a miles better job than gausine blu, it is expensive but if your doing a lot of selective focus in photoshop it's probably worth it.
Personally I'd use lens blur rather than gausine, I think it's more convincing if I'm just using PS.
