Alexander Trent feedback please ??

also the VAT number given in the link to the other website is duff.

How do you tell.

Multiply the first number by 8, the second by 7 all the way through to the 7th x 2. Add them up and repeatedly subtract 97. When you get to a negative that will be the same no as the last 2 numbers.

Or just enter the number in one of the numerous online checkers....:naughty:

If the guy is using a snide VAT number as part of his ploy to legitimise his scams then I'm sure HMRC would be interested.....

Hi all Having read the comments about previous first time posters on this subject I was reluctant to post but as Alexander Trent now appear to be out of business I decided to do so. I came across this forum when searching for Alexandertrent to purchase a Canon macro 100 2.8l IS Usm lens and was surprised to read the comments about them. I purchased a Canon 600d camera from them back in March 2012. After doing some research they came up with the best price and also offered the Canon £50 cash back. I was suspicious so I rang Canon and asked them if they were OK. I was told that the cash back only applied to genuine UK cameras sold by registered suppliers. They would not confirm that Alexandertrent was on that list. I then asked Alexandertrent 1/ if the cash back applied to the 600d and 2/ If the camera had a Canon UK warranty. They relied yes to both questions so I bought the camera which arrived within 5 days. I immediately sent off the cash back claim on which I had to enter the serial number of the camera and within a fortnight received a cheque from Canon for the £50 cash back. I also rang Canon with the serial number and they confirmed it was a genuine UK Camera and that is why I was going to buy the lens from them. It would seem that they had a source for genuine Canon cameras but not for other makes or I was one of the fortunate ones who actually receive a genuine camera. Unfortunately I will now have to search again for my lens.
