AlanDorset Week 52 Picture of the Year

Watching different things by the looks of it. Nicely composed.

Good find. Looks a nice shady spot on a bright day giving detail in the ripped fibres of the wood.

Nice bit of torn woodery :)

Given the conditions I would imagine it was hard to get the correct exposure. Nicely done and well composed.

Unsightly by Alan Webb, on Flickr

Goodwood Festival Of Speed, Object lesson in "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" from Rolls Royce. The Cullinane is the most unsightly vehicle form RR ever, compare and contrast with new Spectre, such an elegant and obviously RR shape

Agree with your choice of cars, perhaps the Cullinane has been designed to appeal to overseas market?
Spectre is much better, though not sure about the grill.

I quite like the Cullinan, it has a futuristic aggressiveness to it; the sort of thing a 22nd century despot might use to mow down the starving, rioting proles.

Sorry, my imagination just ran away from me.

Cullinan just looks like yet another big black box to me. Tyson Fury drives one around here. Does look nice inside though.

Spectre is modern but yet still elegant RR.

Bet my Civic is better on MPG :tumbleweed:

The artics I used to drive probably had better mpg than those!

Have to agree that the designer must have been having a very off day!

Nice shots for the theme. Need your own oilfield I'd guess though. And dread to think what the insurance/service costs/spare parts cost are!

Good shots Alan, the Spectre is spectacular...

Both I;d say. Beltin take on the theme Alan :)

Personally, I think it's rather charming but I get the take on the theme :)

Windows
by Alan Webb, on Flickr

Sculptures at Beaulieu exhibition, over 150 dotted around the grounds and indoors, well worth the trip, some great skills and imagination, all for sale but mostly at "wow" prices.
This one entitled "Window to the Soul" in front of the stained glass window in Palace House. No great technical skill as taken with the i-phone.
The one below is titled "The Window" so fails as being singular, and also not as interesting to my eyes.

I don't get some art, but windows on the soul I can see that.

Love the scarecrow, to me that's as much art as the sculptures. I like how the light plays through the sculpted torso.

I never thought of the plural or singular. The glow on your chosen image works nicely.

Nice spooky shot Alan.

Lovely shot... especially with the traditional yews. Looks like you've manged a difficult exposure very well.
