Airdrie and Coatbridge Photographic Club

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone is a member or attends this club as i've recently come accross their website and i'm in the process of joining or attending a club to expand my photography skills. I live in Coatbridge now and was wondering if anyone could give me some idea of the level of competence required to participate in events/classes.

I've never been before, but I had a look at the member galleries on their site and then a look at your gallery, don't think you'll look out of place at it. I'd go there, listen, learn, hopefully be inspired and improve over time. Even as a social exercise it's nice to meet with other people who share your hobby. Let us know how you get on.

Photography clubs and societies are great places to go and learn and be inspired. Don't feel uncomfortable about going and don't doubt your own ability. These places exist in order to advance your skills and to learn.

I would support KayJay's comment and would even go further and say that you should try and look for groups who are a bit ahead of where you are. By doing this, you will improve your knowledge and skills.

I'd say go along and see for yourself. You will probably find a variety of different levels of expertise.

I think a lot of clubs let you attend for 2-3 nights free to let you get a feel for it. If there's not a waiting list then you can jump in if it suits you.
