When the A380 was in UK last month, Airbus invited submissions to a photo competition of pictures of the A380 on its UK tour. I stuck an entry in and won. Today I got a huge box from from Airbus with this in it:

The prize is my own picture in a frame and a model A380 :D

Well done and a great pic.

Thanks all, I was really taking a pop at Airbus for being so cheapskate, but it is a nice frame!

A free flight would have been better ;)

Yeah, that is a a bit of a poor show from such a big company. Well done on the pic though.

well done, not an extravagant prize but still nice , the real prize is feeling proud of yourself :)

Congrats...nice shot,

The prize is definitely a bit tight though, no chance of you getting a free flight as that would cost them a few quid but they've got promotional stuff by the lorry load for the A380, sure they could have sent you a bit more than just the model - give them a call & talk to "public relations"

Congratulations Glen an awesome shot on an unforgetable day , im glad EDI is in there !!

Well done.

The best prize is being told "You've WON"

Many congrats. If you dont mind me asking, where were you located for this shot ? I was at newbridge on Sunday trying to take some pics of the viaduct bridge but ended up taking more pics of the variety of planes flying overhead. Would like to try the plane shots again, was quite a buzz.

I was on the bridge over the Newbridge Roundabout, just where it turns 90 degrees right to go down the slope

What else could they have done?

Well ok, I don't want to start some pointless debate hijacking a 'good news' thread. I'm not really sure, but a multi-million pound organisation like Airbus I would have expected something a little more 'interesting'. Obviously we all have differing opinions and that's mine but I am well aware that just to win is a prize in itself.

I was just being silly BC, hence the :D in my original post. Airbus were upfront about what the prize was, I laughed before I even entered, so, really, it's no biggie.

Yep, no intention of making it an issue, I think it's great to win, just that my comment was questioned. Prizes are usually stated upfront and the framed picture looks nice but a ride in the cockpit on a free trip to the Bahamas...now that would have been a prize! :)

Well done for the pic Glen it looks good but a big Boo to Airbus for being such cheapscates with the prize.. They could at least give you a free flight or even a trip around the factory so see them been made as a prize.

Congratulations.
I've spent the last 25yrs working for British Airways maintaining 777, 767, 737, 747, Airbus, RJ100s and ATRs and never took a single photo of any !!

Well done Glenn

Perhaps that was what the runners up got :whistling:

Many congratulations on being chosen as winner Glenn, top shot

Great photo.

The company i work for make the wings for the A380.
So i have seen the inside of one but not the outside

Thanks to everyone for your kind words...just as good as winning in the first place! ;)
