Pushed under the back seat, someone must have been watching.

I'm not happy.

I know all the local 2nd hand dealers and pawn shops, as I buy bits of film stuff from them, so they all have a full list with serial numbers, but I'm not hopeful.

I'm normally so damn careful too. My car had no petrol today so I took the truck (no boot) and pushed everything under the back seat. Someone must have seen me I reckon.

$4500 ish. Plus the cost of replacing the window.

Anyone know if the RAW file format on an EOS 5D MkII will work with CS4?

I don't feel like shelling out for CS5.

:bang:

Oh dear, 2nd report in a week, that's bad - take care out there folks ... they're all around us, don't leave it unattended even for 5 minutes.
Sorry to hear of your loss - hope it's insured.

Sorry to hear of your woes; not a good feeling when you come back to a car and realise what has happened.

In answer to your last question, CS4 is compatible with 5DII raw files. It's the reason I upgraded from CS3.

I can really empathise with you there and hope you are insured too.

Had all my gear knicked out of the boot of my car while on the RAC Rally in about 1994 and I wasn't insured but fortunately managed to recoup half it's value from my dad's house insurance. Spectator route closed due to snow so stopped at a villiage pub in North Yorkshire for a drink. Car in the middle of a public car park, gone 20 mins - car door screwdrivered, stereo knicked, backpack of clothes knicked from the boot as well as the gear - which included 20 rolls of film from the previous 2 days. Complete chancer, no one would have known it was in there. I cried all the way home and due to not earning a lot at the time, it took me 5 yrs to replace the kit. Learnt an important lesson that day and I have NEVER left my gear alone since.

Well I have to say I'm surprised by the reaction of the car park owner.

I should explain that it was in my local pub car park, and I texted the owner last night to ask him to look at his cctv.

He asked me today to pop in for a beer, and presented me with a new EOS 7D and 28-135mm lens (The camera stolen was a 50D) and a $500 gift voucher to help me out.

I'm just a little gobsmacked to be honest.

I think I should add that if you fancy a pint at the Red Lion in Houston it's a fantastic pub.

Fishy
Why not wait to see if your insured first and if not a free night at the Pub.

In this day and age with so many pubs closing down, that kit may have been a weeks takings :suspect:

Nah. All on CCTV, except license plate. We're sure the Police know who it is, but have no proof.

I'm a VERY good customer, and I told him it wasn't covered on my insurance.

In the UK I'd have just claimed, but over here... I hadn't checked the small print.

It's a very busy pub so not likely to close, in fact it's the best British pub in Houston TX, by a long way. And I'll be going back, I'm stunned by his generosity.
