AGFAFLEX WAIST LEVEL FINDER

Hi today i picked up this item from a flea market and the question I ask is should there be a lens in this bit of kit or is the veiwing screen built into the camera?
I wish to put this item in the for sale section but want to know first if it is complete.:shrug:
Anyone with knowledge of these cameras please contact me.

Yes thats the item I have but most finders have a lens, the one I have has not. it's just an empty tube with a pop up magnifier.

Lens ??

I don't think I know of a camera with a WLF that has a lens in it other than the pop up magnifier, its usually that and the focussing screen....no lens as such.
Lubitol has a plastic lens instead of a focussing screen, but its a funtime camera..

Yes Joxby I hope this is so. I will try to get photos up when I sell. you never know someone might just be looking for one. I am sure the camera only came with the standard pentaprism.
I dont think this finder has ever been out of it's box.

There would usually be a screen of some sort though, ground glass or somesuch, for the image to form on.

It would be the same focusing screen in the body (above the mirror) that is used by the pentaprism finder, surely?

It isn't with Ihagee/Exakta bodies. The pentaprism finder has a lens in it - the eyepiece itself. The view screen in the Exakta bodies has a lensed square glass viewing screen

Thank you for that. yes it is the waist level finder that I have, whether or not it has it's own screen or uses the same one for both. "seems the sensible option" and I can see no way in the tube to fix a screen.
Some one somewhere will need this bit of kit, I only bought it as it looked a nice thing to have and it was cheap!

Just had a message from a collector in the USA
The screen is integral with the camera so my finder is complete and very collectable.
