Hi, I joined a month or so back but have been lurking in the shadows, I thought it was about time I stepped out into the winter sunshine and started being an active forum member.
Bit of history - back in the 70's I asked for a camera for Christmas (I think I was 14 at the time), I woke up Christmas morning expecting a basic Kodak but was surprised to get not only a zenith E but also one of those Russian enlargers that packed up into a briefcase and all the tanks and chemicals that went with it. I managed over the next few years to teach myself enough to produce some half decent prints and in the process got firmly bitten by the photography bug.
Over the years the cameras have changed according to the state of my bank balance and have included some real rubbish (anyone remember disk film cameras?) and some gems as well. Presently I have a Pentax 100d although I do also always have a 35mm Olympus rangefinder in my pocket for old times sake.
The bad news in my life is that I have just lost my job, the good news is that the compensation I got will allow me financially to try a change in career - and guess what I am thinking of doing
