Just joined the site... like what I am seeing so far, some excellent shots!

Hopefully I can get some good hints and tips from you experience guys as I am just starting out... got myself a Fuji Finepix S5500 to basically learn the ropes with(I know its basic but we all have to start somewhere!).

I love b/w pictures... especially candid shots and also close-ups of plants/flowers.

Gonna go and do some more browsing....!

I've only been 'at it' for about a year, moved the gear up a notch about 4 months ago and haven't been here that long, but I can tell you it is THE place to learn the ropes!
 
Welcome Chris, i started with a Casio digicam, then went on the S5000 and then to the 300d, the S5000 was very capable indeed!
 
Welcome Chris, since you like black and whites you are in luck. This months free photography competition's subject is black and white. If you have chance to get a shot the competition only closes on the 11th so you still have time to enter :)

Either way I hope you enjoy the forums :)

It doesn't matter what camera you have m8, as long as you enjoy what your doing with it.
