Morning all...the battery in my 1D3 has finally died after 13yrs and I would like to replace it, but I don't think I can justify spending £150 on a Canon battery.

So, can anyone recommend an aftermarket battery that works, as in fits and seals ok and the battery indicator works as it should.

Thanks in advance.

I use ravpower batteries with my sony a7r iii. They are quite cheap and do the job. I think I get similar number of shots to the original, but they don't seem to hold charge well when not in use.

My battery indicator works like the original batteries. It may be working now, but a firmware update may make it stop working.

Ended up going for a DSTE battery and worth a punt for £28.

All the battery indicators work, which I know cannot be the case with some aftermarket batteries.

So, we'll see how it goes.
