Yes
what size do people edit their photos to for general uploading to Photobucket/FlickR etc.
That's then an ideal size to email.

Stuff I have now seems huge if I want to email... 12mb+ file sizes.

I just wondered whats a good all round size I should re-size that doesn't loose the quality of the picture I've taken and RAW edited to Jpeg.

tnx

And if it's for screen 72dpi should be fine which will reduce file size.

DPI has nothing to do with file size when exporting unless you are sizing to inches in your export program. The ppi/dpi (they aren't interchangeable, but are used that way) is irrelevant if exporting at a set number of pixels.

Sharpening etc is best done after resizing which means that you should resize to each target size from the original and save it. With the new auto sizer on TP you will not be harassed if you post 1000x800 but not bigger as it causes issues with slow connections etc.

I have presets for TP, for Facebook and did have one for Flickr. Then once uploaded I just delete them and keep the RAWs.

thanks everyone.

so I need to re-size then edit/sharpen photos then save... (to Jpeg?)

If I r-esize to 800 pixel across the top and have ration adjusted, that size would be fine for uploading to all websites in general?

I find Flickr seems to add sharpening to my images so keep it in mind when sharpening.
