Hi,
not sure if this is in the right section or not.
Me and my girlfriend do a small amount of photography,
were looking to buy a good lazer printer on a budget of around 100 pounds,
which is the best we can buy for this sort of money or near this sort of money,
cheers

Do you mean a laser printer for printing letters etc. or do you plan on printing photo's.
If it's the former, look at the Canon Outlet store on Ebay, it's not only a good place for photographic equipment, but laser printers often come up with a good saving on the cost new.

If it's the latter, then laser isn't really what you want. Most pro's (though not all I don't need to argue the merits) use labs for printing, it's generally considered easier to get consistent results by outsourcing printing. However if you do want to print your own work, then in order of quality I'd say it's
Dye sub - expensive specialised kit for anything over 6x4
Inkjet, up to A4 printing - quite good quality for the price. Over A4 you'll not get a printer within your budget.
Laser - Not really optimised for photo printing, laser printers are really designed as office printers.
All of them can be had from the Canon Outlet store though.

If its for printing photos don't bother, buy an inkjet or dye sub. I haven't found a decent photo glossy paper that will work in a laser printer yet and th quality isn't that great anyway and any of the printers or copiers I have used.

You won't find 10x8 printer paper it'll have to be A4.

You wont get a good colour laser printer for £100

get a canon or epson inkjet with a ciss kit for value.

Thats not entirely true, 8x10 can be bought, in fact I have three boxes of it sat here. Got it from Fotospeed.

One stands corrected :)

I used to sell printers for a living

Things to look for

Price of consumables ( not just toner) look at drums etc and work out cost per copy taking in all products involved.

Speed of printer as in Pages per minute is largely irrelevant UNLESS you are printing large numbers of the same document, a more realistic measureof speed is time to print first page.

Printers are cheap, the big money is in the consumables.

Cheap consumables don't give the print quality you bought the printer for and can invalidate your warranty.

:):):)

i made 2 keyrings for myself and people though i had actually bought them from a shop!
