Hello,
I am under going the huge task of organising my photo library of 9 years to which I have had no real structure to.
I have organised everything using an apple script to place photos taken on a daily basis into folders. Then I have created sub parent folder of month and a master parent folder of year.
Everything from there is now controlled by keywords

Just wondered if you had any tips on key wording.
I am basically applying the following

So lets say its a portrait shoot.
Name of person, location, the keyword portrait its self?
Bit unsure about that last one as I then go on to create a keyword folder if you will called portraits.

Basically anything you forsee me getting into issues with please speak up as I am working through 46,000 images right now.

Cheers for any advise you may have.

Johnny

Might be easier to.
Create a smart collection based on colour, then fly through all your portraits and spray them that colour. Then open said collection.
Ctrl +a then right click - properties - and input keyword portrait.
You can then create another collection for portraits with the necessary requirements.
You can then also remove the colour using ctrl + a again .
Then repeat a similar process for other types of photography.

Hope that reads OK.

I have already gone thought all the photos and assigned at least one keyword if not multiple. I was doing it by the year they were in and any I didnt keyword I looked at in depth and mainly deleted them. It helped alot to remove some crap as I had show set to keyword - none. As I assigned them they disappeared.

I am going to use smart collections to show me stuff in my portfolio, website, things rated 5 star'd, favourites of each category etc.

Whilst I am on lighroom. Anyone got any solutions to filter data by file size??
