Opinions and advice wanted. I have just built a website for a local covers band, friends of mine, and did a bit of a photo shoot at one of their rehersals. They have been asked to get some professional promo shots and have asked me if I would take them.

Firstly they have asked me for some suggestions as to locations, secondly it's not people I am used to taking pics of (motorsport usually, as I'm a motorsport journo)

Anyone got any suggestions as to sorts of locations for something different.

The site address is www.retrophonix.co.uk to show you what type of band they are.

Whilst I'm at it, here are a couple of shots from the rehersal, c&c welcome.

Hi,

those are a good start, but to make any sensible suggestions it would help to know what kind of music they play and what they are in to. It would then be more interesting to shoot them in that context. The red curtain background is a bit bland.

I haven't done any promo type stuff but was out shooting at a local festival this week as an official tog, great fun but not the kind of thing that could be 'set up' unless you captured this band while they are actually performing.

That was why I put a link in the first post to their website, it's got a set-list on there.

I've got a few rehersals and gigs to cover for them, but the 'promo' shots are the ones that need the thought going into them. Any help would be appreciated.
