hey hey

i am taking pics at a school fete tomorrow. it runs 2pm to 4pm.

i have a lappy and a printer that enables me to print 6x4 but i will give punters the option of ordering larger sizes. i am taking the wife along who isnt that pc literate. i will only take pics when someone asks for one to be taken.

my question is....should i take 1 pic then go and process and print or take pics from say 2pm to 3pm then print from 3pm to 4pm.

or is there another option?

your thoughts would be most appreciated. :love:
 
never done nothing like this myself, but I would take photos first and then print as a batch.Probably save alot of time and less chance of missing a customer
 
Ho ho,

when you shoot, you can't print. Shooting time is from 2pm to 4pm. So you'd have to find someone to do the printing during that time. You can take over printing at 4pm again.
 
I suggest 2 memory cards
take pics all the time
when card fills up get SWMBO to upload to laptop while you fill the next
get the punters to look at the laptop and order prints
when 2nd card fills up goto step 3
 
Have you got access to an online order system? If you have you could sell the images and give them a discount code instead. This could then be used on your site and, as they have already paid, you don't lose out. It also will give them an option to buy extra and possible larger prints while they are at it.

They will go to the site as you have there money. If they don't you are up on the cash side anyway.

My advice would be to have a discount code equal to the amount of your 6x4 prints with free postage. Have a form for them to fill in so that you can cross-check orders with those who have paid (better than having seperate codes for each client).

This has worked for me in the past and even gets some free advertising as clients generally pass on the website information to family and friends.
