Hi folks,

I have been asked to attend my local Boys Brigade this week and take some photographs of kids and reptiles & spiders etc.

Any advice I'd approach and what lenses I should be considering taking. And does anyone know if flash is bad for any of these creatures.

Thanks

Be advised some tarantulas can flick hairs at you if threatened, these can harm your eyes if they go in them, you might want to consider safety glasses.

Sorry to say I would need far more protection than safety glasses to get me anywhere near a Tarantula or other big spiders, snakes or other reptiles. Perhaps I just ought to hang around the farmyard with the rest of the chickens.

you hardly feel them when they are on you and they don't even care, you are just an obstical to get over.

Make sure the reptiles sign a model release if you intend to publish the photos commercially.

I don't believe it's required for the spiders, though.
