Hi All

I recently replaced my hard drive in my MBP with a SSD drive :), moving the original hard drive into a caddy where the DVD drive used to be.

I need to access my install/set up DVDs so want to put my DVD drive into a caddy but will probably have to swap out the hard drive for this weekend.

Found a great one on eBay - here - but then realised it is a SATA connection whereas mine, being a bit older is IDE.

As I see it I have three options

(1) Buy a SATA drive to go in the above housing

(2) Buy a complete slimline DVD drive off the bay such as this

(3) Buy a functional but not good fit i.e. open front drive enclosure such as this one

Has anybody any thoughts/links to another suitable solution?

Personally I'd opt for option 2. Less hassle and you have a DVD drive you can use anytime without having to strip your MBP down ( OK I know it's not difficult but this will save time and prevent loosing those screws :) )

Thanks John

I think I am heading in that direction - seems the 'cleanest' option
