I've just splashed out and bought my first tablet - been thinking about it for ages and finally went for it. Picked up an Intuos 4 Medium (taking on board the old adage of buy cheap buy twice).

Anyone got any useful tips for a tablet newbie?

Customise the buttons for your most used keyboard shortcuts, especially the ones that use 3-4 keys.

Don't give up on it, it may feel weird to start with.

I customise the settings for different apps, so it behaves slightly differently in Photoshop than in Lightroom, but that's a thing for once you've got used to using it.

It will change your life. No idea how I ever thought I could use a mouse for Photoshop work...

Do they really make that much difference ? i've had one for about a year and not got around to using it, i really must have a play, and note to self i must stop buying stuff and leaving it in the box :D

They really do make that much difference! Using a mouse for Photoshop is like drawing with a bar of soap :)

Mark - PM me your email address & I'll send you a PDF that outlines the most frequently used settings for an Intuos4 with Photoshop

Fill glass with water
Put tablet in mouth
Sip water
Swallow

Wondered how long before the sarcastic responses...longer than expected to be honest! :)
