Hi guys I was wondering if you could tell me the best way to go about removing the strange reflection on the top of the bonnet on the drivers side.

I guess I'm going to need to use PS I don't have loads of experience using it as I use LR for 99% of my editing, any advice would be great thanks View attachment 22897

Very tricky.

Had a quick play in CS6.

Combination of the eye dropper tool to pick up the paint colour and a soft brush to basically air brush out the "reflection"....

Then a bit of cloning and healing brush to tidy up....

To do the job properly so it cant be noticed I'd say is going to take a few hours.....

bit dirty but a combination of eye droppper and soft brush to paint away the reflection - then some cloning.

to do the job properly would take a couple of hours though...that took me 10 minutes.....

Thanks a lot Kenny it doesn't have to be perfect it's just for a friend to put on auto trader but I wanted to remove the reflection some what as people think it's a spoiler or air intake.

You have done a great job I'll give it a go later on the high res version.

I tried the quick and dirty way of selecting the bit in front of the reflection and dragging it over the reflection, then used a layer mask to tidy up the edges, not as neat as Jeffs but only about a minutes work.

Thanks did you use PS CS6?

I used CS5, as it's whats handy on the internet computer, the later versions are on the work computers are they are off (and I can't be bothered to fire one up) but the method I used is in all the versions going way back.

Select the area in front of the reflection, copy/paste (so it's on a new layer) then free transform and drag it up over the reflection, add a layer mask and paint out the the edges you may have covered till it's tidy.
As I say it's quick and dirty and you could do a better job with some tidying up with the clone tool/healing brush

Hi guys would you mind going in to a more step by step route that you took to edit I'm struggling with it :(

Can anyone help?

My method was to use the marquee tool to select a square in front of the reflection on the bonnet. The I copied and pasted it (CTRL C and CTRL V) so it's on a new layer above the bonnet shown in green here.View attachment 23392

Next step is to free transform (CTRL T) then holding down shift drag it roughly over the reflection, don't worry about going over the edges as we'll tidy up after. Shift lets you drag the corners out as needed.

The last stage is to add a layer mask to the new layer then with black and a small brush paint out the overspill, if you go to far switch to white and paint the bit back in. Take you time with a small brush and zoom in a bit so you can see what your doing.
Sneeky tip, lower the top layer opacity to about 50-60% before you start painting on the layer mask, you can then see where the edges are on the bottom layer, just remember to take it back to 100% after.
