Hi All,

I've always used tiff format for printing, but for some reason the printer I use and like don't accept tiff for large format prints. They want jpeg at 300dpi. Would this quality still be ok for a 32" x 20" print, or should I look for another printer that accepts tiff format?

Thanks,
Dom

JPEGs would be fine for printing. Best to do your edits in tiff and save as tiff. But save a copy as an 8 bit jpeg for printing. Generally adobe rgb is used for print and srgb for web. It would be ideal if they did let you know the paper type and send you a profile to work to.

You can go down a rabbit hole with this stuff.... If I was you I would just send them my full size image in jpeg format (no resizing) and be done with it. As long as your camera has a reasonable resolution (over 24mp) ... it should come out OK. But you can upscale the image if you want, and then you can sharpen it etc. Whether this is perceptible in the final print, who knows.
