Okay I have studied all the post's on setups but still need direct yes no or this.

I have a budget of £600 - £650.00 for lighting for home studio kit.

I will be buying an Hilite £279.00
I like the idea of the Hilite as it gives me more room in the house to play with if capturing hikey. Can also be used with other backgrounds.

Leaves around £350 to play with. I know I really need a 3 light kit and I have narrowed it down to three choices:

Ebay 900w 3 light kit with everything included £280. Main problem with these are only 75w modelling lamp, is this really a problem with hi key?

Lencarta Smartflash £450 slightly over my budget :shake:

Elemental Genisis £470 over budget again.

So real question is with Hilite do I really really need 3 light kit?
Next Question is if so, would I get away with the Ebay ones ?

Needing a push either way.

If I was you just try and save the exrta £100 as I have the lencarta Smartflash and it's good, no point buying rubbish from ebay.

But is it rubbish?

I have bought plenty stuff from Ebay and its been the same quality as branded products. Is there anyone here that can say it is rubbish.

The thing with the ebay lights is light modifyers, you will be limited.. the lencarta system uses Bowens S-fit so you can get various attachments almost anywhere.. I would have thought you could get away without a third light until later.. easy enough to buy seperately..
With the ebay lights, there will be a time to upgrade and there will be money lost...

I think the lastolite will be better with a third light, I jut don't know if it is a necessity...
