Advice on compact

Sister-in-law is after a new P&S, £200 max. Can anyone advise on whats best at the mo? She will be shooting her daugther alot, so the main point is it needs to be able to start shooting as soon as possiable.

Oh and only Canons please

I just bought a Canon Powershot sx230 hs from Currys ( £199 last week, now £189 ) Superb camera, nice and small with excellent IQ and features. www.dpreview.com rate it very highly too as the best travel zoom compact available.
