I have been going to a local zoo/park. Just down the road from me. The problem I am haveing is that most of the animals, are behind glass screens. I am standing at an angle to the glass, to take the photo, but some of the shots are comeing out milky.
Has enyone any advice as to how to overcome this problem

I suppose it depends on the lighting. A tripod and no flash would possibly help?

Perhaps a polarising filter might help if the problem is being caused by reflections from the glass screen.

:agree: Good advice on the polariser.
Try also taking the image with your lens flat against the glass & up the contrast in post processing or shading the sides of the lens with your hands or something similar

I would say a polariser as well for the short term, either that or climb in the cage with them?

Agree about putting your lens as flat to the glass as you can, should do the trick :)

Thanks Guys. Strange but I have just got back from town, where I have bought a circular polariser. Thanks for the advice, shall also try putting my lens flat on the glass.

The other advantage of putting your lens flat against the glass is that you can then use flash without it reflecting back from the glass. One of those cheap foldy pliable rubber lens hoods helps to get a bit of an angle on the shot if you need to.

Thanks CT. I have never heared of a rubber lens hood. Will print off your reply, so that I can prove to the wife, that I rely need it.

LOL. Jessops usually stock them in the most common sizes. ;)

I normally put the lens up to the glass then use my hand to shield any light leaks. A rubber hood would be a better solution again as that should help keep constant seal around the lens.
