Last year I bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and was made up with the quality of the pics in auto focus mode. I really haven't gone away from the auto focus mode and had much of a play with the TZ6 at all.
I have decided to move to a DSLR and have always liked the pictures I see from a Nikon D40. I understand that this is a discontinued model and has been taken over by the D3000, which I was going to go for.
A member off another forum has suggested that I look into getting the D5000 mainly because of the live view and better sensor in it (I think it's the same as the D90)
Is it worth spending the extra cash on the D5000?
Here is what I would be buying:
