I am a very very amateur 'picture taker', but I do take arial (glider mounted) inflight pictures. My original camera was stolen some years ago, so I am looking to replace it. Can any one tell me a suitable model(i don't remember the original model...Ricoh something) which must have the following Spec'.

Second Hand. 35 mm. Small, Compact and Lightweight.
Auto-Wind on. Tripod Mount thread. Cable release facility on the shutter
release*. Preferably wide angle(ish) lens.*

Cheap! as is likely to get damaged, possbly get something on E Bay(when I know a suitable model) or 2nd hand camera shop.
*my last camera had a threaded button S/release and a 35 mm lens, but would prefer wider angle lens.

Many thks for any help.

eos 600 would work but its electric cable release and lenses would be expensive (well more than m42) if they got busted up

Compact as in small or compact as in Compact... like point and click? If the latter there are many choices.

Does it need to be a 'compact' camera or just something not too big? Something like an OM1 with a Winder attached should do the job or if you wanted Auto mode then go for the OM2, still affordable. Also the Zuiko 28mm lens is outstanding. The remotes are pretty reasonable as well.

See? I thought if Compact as in point and click then the Lomo Fisheyes would be worth a look in this instance.

"Compact" as in point and click. Any suggestions for make/models to meet my requirements.
No idea what "Lomo" fisheyes are, do they fit onto a 35mm compact?

If you could afford it I think Contax T2 would be an amazing camera. I have one and I love it! Leica Minilux is great too.

Hi again - if you look on Ebay for "Lomo Fisheye" there are plenty, from around £30 or so. They are 35mm cameras with a fisheye lens basically!
