Subject says it all really but a bit more info.

I have a Canon 5D Mark 3 camera and the following lenses:

Canon EF 24 to 70mm F2.8 L USM Zoom Lens
Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS USM Zoom Lens
Canon EF 28-135mm F3.5 - 5.6 IS USM Zoom Lens (Not autofocusing properly)!

I'd like a good wide angle, possibly zoom to fill the gap and would appreciate some advice on what to consider.

Thanks

John

Does it need to be 'fast' and what's your budget ?

I'm happy with my Canon EF 17-40 mm f/4.0 L USM however I only use it for landscapes so rarely go anywhere near f4

With that camera? I'd consider the Zeiss 21/2,8

If the budget is minimal then the 17-40 is probably the best route.

Not used it but those I know that have rate the Canon 16-35 f2.8 highly, the tokina 16-28 f2.8 is also worth a look, it is excellent (for an UWA) and extremely good value at less than half the price of the Canon, though it doesn't take filters! The zeiss lenses are lovely and it is also worth considering the Voightlander 20mm F3.5 too.

Extreme wide, you're pretty much limited to the Sigma 12-24. A good copy is great fun but there are plenty of reports of bad ones (some might even be from people who have had bad experiences themselves rather than repeating what they've read online...)

I have had a Canon 16 - 35 2.8 for years and I think it works perfectly for me. I also have a 5D MK III

I know it will mean slight overlap with your 24-70 but I can thoroughly recommend the 17-40 USM. I bought one for professional use in 2004 and it is still my favourite Canon lens, well made and mine is still worth nearly what I paid for it!

Thanks for all the suggestions - quite a few options and now off to investigate and read reviews.

Cheers

forget the zoom, go for a fixed 14mm. Canon if you're rich, Samyung if a pauper
