Advice needed please

Hi,

I'd like to get some of my photographs printed, mounted and framed behind glass. Should I go for matte or gloss prints? I guess borders on the prints does not matter as the picture with have a mount around it anyway.

Any other advice much appreciated,

I tend to do matte personally when I'm printing for frames. Rightly or wrongly I assume that a shiny surface behind a shiny surface wouldn't be ideal. However I've never tried it to find out!

Not quite sure what you mean by " I guess borders on the prints does not matter as the picture with have a mount around it anyway". hopefully not printing borderless and then stick a mount on it all you will be hiding is wasted ink I don't think this is what you are saying though. Personally I'd always use a mount (outside of the actual print border|) and use Matte paper however that suites the images I take, under certain circumstances it may be appropriate to use a semi-gloss paper if you will, juxtapose a shot of a F1 racing car vs a calm Landscape you choose.
