Hi! :) I'm not a photographer, more of a budding Graphics student with a very clever camera!

I recently lost my battery for my Canon 1000D and need advice to buy a replacement battery. Is it worth paying the price for the camera's brand battery or do the non-brand ones last just a long?

What's a good one to get etc.

Thanks in advance!

After a bit of a dodgy experience that a colleugue had with a 3rd party battery in a Nikon I would have said yes...

But now Energizer (feel they are more reputable) are selling batteries and I am trying one in the D5000.

The difference in price is over £30 !!!!

:agree::plusone: with the 7dayshop batteries!

Good quality aftermarket batteries are fine, 7 day shop batteries seem to have a good reputation on here (as above) :thumbs:

My 5D has worked great with the 2 Hong Kong replacements for over a year.
No probs at all.

:plusone: For 7Dayshop, have used their batteries both in my Nikon D80 and my Canon Ixus P&S. Great value and they last just as long as the originals.

Another vote for 7dayshop. I bought two of their batteries for my 1000D and they're performing fine. IMHO, you'd be a mug to pay full whack for the OEM batteries ...
