as a beginner with editing digital photos i'm asking you lot what you would do with this photo taken at Boxhill mid 2010.
first shot is the original, the second is some cloning and converting to greyscale (both done using paintshop pro 5).
my question is, can i do something else to make the original better? or, what would you do?

i would try selective colouring as the car is a lovely colour. but im also very new to photoshop ect so it may not look good anyway, but wouldnt hurt to try

You've still got the reflection of a white hatchback on the front wing plus reflections of the former white parking lines on both sides, but having said that you've done a cracking job with the cloning already. Personally I'd avoid selective colouring, a bit cheesy.

You've done a great job getting rid of the van, it was the first thing I was going to suggest, until I scrolled to see a second photo.

As Alastair has said, theres the reflections of the white lines, and the white hatchback still on the car, and the white hatchback is also on the rear arch too, on the chrome....

I think if you get rid of those reflections, keep it in colour, it will be a great photo of one of my favourite cars :)

On my monitor, which isn't calibrated at the moment, it looks better with a slight Levels tweak to increase contrast and brightness a little.

Edit: A little sharpening helps it too.

Maybe a little over the top, but after i cloned out the van, the fence posts were annoying me, so they got removed too. Finally i thought a solid green hedge was a bit too bland, so i added a little something extra...
