Right so I'm planning on buying some cheap flashes to use as part of a wireless set up.. But I'm not sure which ones.
I've heard good things about old vivitars, and other second hand flashguns from ebay.. Also good things about the Yongnuo 460's that FITP sells.

Any advice? Whats best for the price (sub £40 please), pros and cons, reliability, power.. Anything I should know.

Please note I don't care about TTL, manual will do me fine.

Nice, thanks Barney. I will keep that in mind and see if they are still on sale in 2 weeks time :D

Anyone else have any recommendations/past experiences to share?

Yongnuo 460 is quite good to start with. Only problem with this flashgun is, buttons. Its bad specially hard to operate when you are shooting outside in this cold!!

in that case it doesn't really matter that much. Keep an eye on ebay for cheap flashes with some form of power adjustment. I managed to pick up a job lot of 6 for a tenner, and so long as they all slave OK, you can get creative
