I'm really looking to improve myself overall and looking next year to put some effort into all areas but for the time being want to up my game in the editing stakes. I'm an ok PS user and want to look at the next level, what books would you recommend for more creative techniques such as blending creative layers [textures] etc? Also a good glamour type book.

Scott Kelby's Photoshop CSx book for digital photographers are a good read.
Clear and concise they cover everything from basic to advanced techniques.

My CS4 book was a godsend when I was first starting to use photoshop.

I would recommend...

How To Cheat in Photoshop (CS3/4/5) by Steve Caplin

http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/

Creative Lighting Techniques by Barry Huggins

Surreal Digital Photography: The Photographers Digital Trickery Handbook by Barry Huggins & Ian Probert

http://www.barryhuggins.com/

WHSmiths also will have Photoshop bookazines (£15ish) and Creative Photoshop Magazine offer the same kinda bookazine/eBook thing.

Hope this helps

Scott

Many thanks,

Is that the How To Cheat In Photoshop book? If so it might be worth joining the forum too. Steve Caplin chairs the forum and is there to help with any issues in the book. A great little forum where you can take part in the Friday Challenge.
