I know there's worse things in the world but the ads and sound of when uploading photos drives me nuts,Anyone know of a way of disabling them or at least the sound?

Get an ad block add on for your browser.

I use Firefox with an add on called Adblock Plus. I see virtually no ads on the internet. :D

I think you can get something similar with Chrome, not sure about Internet Explorer or Safari though. :shrug:

Get a Pro account, no ads
 
I use one of these.

Alternatively, I use this:
soundcontrol.jpg

The ALSA plug-in is what plays the sound on my web-browser - so I can turn the sound off my web pages whilst leaving it on my music player (Guayadeque). This is in Linux (Ubuntu) - I'm not sure if you can do this in Windows or Mac.

Yes you have to pay, it is about £16.50 / year.

Picasa or Imageshack are other free options for you online storage
 
I just mute it and open another tab and do something else while it uploads. That way i dont have to watch those annoying adds.
