Morning folks,

Ive just upgraded my computer and I can't decide whether to go for Adobe's photo bundle.

I'm using LR4 at the moment but quite like the idea of having LR on the iPad,
are there any downsides to going with the CC option rather than getting a hard copy apart from the lack of the iPad version?

Thanks

The biggest problem is that if you stop the subscription the software stops working.
Yeah, that does worry me a bit, but at the current monthly cost of less than £8 I figure if I decide I'm not using the cloud facilities and want to migrate to a hard copy it's not the end of the world.

I bought the hard copy of LR5 and the most annoying thing about it is the regularity that someone posts up a bundled version they're selling for half what I paid.

I'm still in two minds over moving to CC; I haven't needed anything more than PSE8 to edit photos so far but I'm starting to take a lot more of them. As I move to using digital in place of 35mm, I really like the idea of LR Mobile, especially for trips but it's not exactly feature-rich (ok, it's version 1.0 so features will follow) and it's tied to Apple kit only, apparently an Android version is in the pipeline, no release date. I've avoided Apple gear since I was driven up the wall by iTunes when I had an iPhone, so much so that I'd really rather not buy their tablet and go through that pain again.

If you do decide to buy a hard copy, just buy the serial number. I bought the DVD pack from Amazon and installed it off the disk, then the first thing it did was tell me there was a later version available online and downloaded the whole package.

One advantage of the bundle is that you also get the latest version of Photoshop. You may not want it, but I find it useful.
