Do you pay £8 a month for this one, or is it a one off?

Sorry to ask :)

You can buy CC for £8/ month which includes Photoshop and new features ie DeHaze in Lightroom, or buy a one off license for £104. I bought it outright, upgrade for about £54 but it looks like you can't do the upgrade license any more?

Pretty much everything you need to do to process files RAW or JPEG, it doesn't do layers and the more advanced photo manipulation that comes into play with Photoshop.

I have the monthly subscription and it's really good. I'd recommend it if you want to stay up to date with versions and incremental improvements and bug fixes. I used Photoshop 100% and tho I get Lightroom with it I never use it. Can't get on with for some reason. Maybe because I've use PS for Donkey's years and too lazy!

I'm exactly the same but the other way round :D

Horses for courses innit? Or in my case Donkey! I started checking out Lightroom again yesterday and it seems to have changed quite a bit and is actually not that hard to get decent results easily. I think in the past I didn't respect the whole file-management side as I had my own approach, so didn't bother exploring the rest of it. And just never felt as comprehensive as PS ... so if I'm gonna waste time learning may as well learn the best. But I am going to consider it again. The truth is I make few complex adjustments in PS anyway and they're more than covered in LR 6.x.

I've also found some nice YouTube training video examples which I found helpful. Am thinking of getting the Northrop book (Kindle version) as great reviews and pretty effective and focused training. Anyone else have this? For £6-7 or whatever seems a good option.

Can you get help in Lightroom/ As in pop up guides that tell you what to do etc?

Yes, they'll be available but I'd prefer something that real users recommend and in video format.

There's loads of Julieanne Kost video's on the web teaching all about lightroom.

OK, will do a Google. Thanks!

For good Lightroom & Photoshop training videos, try Beckham Digital. They are very good, and reasonably priced

cheers

I'm going to stick with PS for now. Lightroom is certainly better than when I first tried it when it was launched but adds no value to me as long as I'm paying for the CC versions online anyway. If I was just buying a retail boxed version it'd be a different story.
