Adobe & my 40D....

Both Lightroom & PS CS3 won't accept the raw files generated by my 40D. Lightroom is Ver 1.4.0, and the 1.4.1 upgrade only covers files from the 450D.

Anybody else experience this ??

Sorry, not very useful, but I have Apple Aperture and my 40D that I purchased on Friday works with no problem.

they dont work....you need to convert to adobes format of .dng (digital negative) the convertor is on the adobe site. no loss of quality....or use a cr2 convertor to tiff..

which will replace the raw convertor and as the page says does work with CS3

Just go to Help>Updates in CS3 that should load all the updates you'll need.

Just checked the Adobe web site and the latest version should support the 40D

LR 1.4.1 should support the 40D, don't confuse the new cameras added in the list to mean only those are supported. Older version are also included it's just the updated cameras that are mentioned

Mine didn't support CR2 files until it updated the camera raw facility from Adobe. Now I can open them in CS3. Just open the program and find the updates tab and it'll sort it out for you with any luck. Can't commenton lightroom though i'm afraid.

I've been using Lightroom with my 40D since last September, so I'm not sure why you're having a problem. Support for the 40D was included with Lightroom 1.4 and Camera raw 4.4 (see: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html) but it was also in an earlier version as I only had to wait about a week from buying my 40D for the update to come out.

Yep using CS3 with the latest ACR (camera raw) update.... and Lightroom 1.41 opens my 40d files too. :shrug:

Well thanks for all your inputs, however I still have a problem....

I've loaded the update for CS3 and it's fine

BUT, the update to 1.4.1 for Lightroom is giving me a major headache. If I download and install the update, every time I run the application it fails with a run time error.

So I'm considering downloading 2.0 Beta and trying that.

Have you tried to re-download the 1.4.1 file? - You may have a corrupt copy.
Have you completely uninstalled v 1.4?

Don't go back to version 1.4, it was full of bugs, Adobe withdrew it about 2 days after putting it up on the site.
