Hey Andy, presumably that's for the digital version? Last time I looked at ordering from the US store it was rejected because my address was not in the USA. Have you actually tried to checkout CS5 from the US store, as I believe this is still the case
Hillariously they cite "Translation costs" as one of the reasons the UK gets ripped off. Sure. Sell me a version that says "Color" not "Colour", for those prices I DON'T CARE!
Yes, I always order my stuff via Adobe.com - I don't care about boxes etc as its the License that is important.
Not sure what would happen if you ordered a boxed version...
I refuse to be ripped off on principle - in any event, the translation issue is *******s, as Spanish is widely spoken in the USA so US stuff is at least bi-lingual.
I would be interested to know how you managed to buy from adobe.com as it is a lot less money for the same product.
It's really not difficult, I've just logged into the Adobe.com store right now and added it to my basket no problem, CS4 to CS5 upgrade for $199. It really helps if you have an AMEX card.. if you don't you can apply for one and get 5% off cashback for the first 3 months.
Also, I'm not convinced that having a US license is any more legal that buying a 'copy' on ebay. It must be either valid in the country of use or not and I would assume Adobe would say it's not valid as it is not being used in the country of purchase.

Don't "assume" - read it.
It doesn't say that - writing that into the user agreement would mean that the price difference would be open to legal challenge, something Adobe won't try to invite, as it would mean trying to defend the price differential, something they would not be at all keen to do.
