Adobe Creative Suite CS2 is available to students for £180.

this is the full suite.

See Adobe site for details, its in there you just have to dig around a bit for it.

How do they define student? :)

Fully valid NUS card and letter from your teacher/supervisor. Usually.
It's pretty tight.

a valid NUS card will do it.

if you want Mac versions you can also buy them from apple stores if u have NUS card

I have an honest face, do you think that might work?

Anyone know where i can get a NUS card from... :(

I am going to want the CS3 upgrade before long and dont like the fact that Adobe are willing to sell it at a cheaper price simply because they are selling it to a student...

This is probably because the students that I know are only students because they are too bone-idle to get a proper job.

DreederUK - I have an NUS card.

You do know adobe have said its 99% sure there isnt going to be an upgrade route available.

So if you need it you have to buy the full version. Aparently it will be cheaper than the cs2 version.

Are you sure it's the full thing? I looked at a Student Version of CS2 on amazon and it turned outit was a 90 day trial!

No upgrade route?? Those over pricing, money grabbing to**ers at Adobe need a slapping!

There's no technical reason an upgrade route is not avialable - this just makes me so angry! I forked out over £400 for CS2!!!

Am soo mad!!!!!!!:bang: :annoyed:

If that does turn out to be the case Ill be sticking with CS2 then... Shame.

Just checked the Adobe site out for confirmation of this and unless im reading it wrongly they will offer an upgrade...

PSCS3 FAW PDF page 4, 3rd question down..

Q. If I buy Photoshop CS2 today in order to get access to the Photoshop CS3 beta, will I get a free upgrade
to Photoshop CS3?
A. No. The rich feature set and productivity enhancements of Photoshop CS2 already provide a strong upgrade value, and the opportunity to preview the upcoming CS3 release is an additional bonus. In addition, customers who are still using Photoshop version 6.0 or earlier will benefit from taking advantage of a more liberal upgrade policy for Photoshop CS2. Adobe will not offer upgrade pricing more than three versions back on Photoshop CS3. Go to www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/index.html for more information on Adobe Photoshop CS2.

This bit makes it appear like they WILL offer upgrade pricing to users of CS2, CS1 and whatever the version before that was called... but nothing older than that.

Thats good, my info came from an Adobe rep about 1 month ago.

Most big Software companys sell Students and Education departments very cheap software, Apple, Adobe, Microsoft to name but a few.
Adobe and Ilford tour the college's and Uni's demoing and touting their wears.

We get very good deals from Ilford on paper etc.

Damn you, damn you to hell, damn you to hell and you die... ;)

Im just jealous thats all..

Anyway... This is the thread on Adobe Forums... All the replies seem to indicate that it will be available as an Upgrade. :)

don't you know any teachers or got any stoodie friends ?????

If you enroll on a photo night course at your local college, you'll be able to claim it then and get a qualification too...

I work in a secondary school as well as running a high street photo studio.
Apple offer 3 tiers of discount. Education, further education and higher education. I logged on to the Apple store for education site and CS2 is £569.00! When I bought my Apple Mac my daughter was in further education and I got an extra discount of about 10% if I remember correctly.

One thing that frustrates me is that you can't buy a version that works on both Mac and PC so if I bought the mac version it won't work on my laptops.

:bang:
