Which Adobe product? I assume Photoshop :)

I've just got a copy of Dreamweaver - I like the idea of setting up my own photo gallery website, but I've never done website design before and I don't know where to start :( I was thinking about evening classes or a crammer course.

I got dreamweaver... someone told me how to make a blank white page with my name typed on and saved as an html doc and left me to it!! :D

I made the rest of the site with trial and error... hard work but a very accomplished feeling... Im sure there's loads of mistakes but Im happy with it.

Give it a go.

I went to college last night. The course I'm doing is called 'Digital Darkroom NCFE Level 2'. Basically, it's a 24 week Photoshop course. Luckily, it's very well attended but found out I'm the least experienced tog there which will add a bit of pressure.
Last nights lesson (after all the college routine gumpf which lasted about an hour) was learning the basics of how a digital camera works and what happens when the camera creates a jpeg file and a raw file.
The assignment for the week is to go out and take some pictures (in RAW format) on the theme of Architecture. We will then use these pictures next week and have a play with monochrome.
I left the lesson feeling quite confident as I understood much of what was said and I'm already looking forward to next week. I was thinking about posting a weekly report on here to show the progress made as it may be an eye opener to other newbies on here who are considering taking similar courses in there area.

For those who are considering building a website, you're better off going on a design course than a course specifically in Dreamweaver. You can be great at using the app, but if you don't know how to actually design a website you're still stuck.

I started one last night as well , Digital Photography for beginers 12 weeks x 3hrs aimed at DSLR users.
Dont know why but I didn"t take my camera thinking thats a bit ott 1st night , and guess what I was the only one who didn"t , no prob as the course had stock of Canons for use by people who had no DSLR"s.

Anyone come across a Lightroom course???

i also started an adobe photoshop last night after it was also cancelled last week due to low numbers.really enjoyed it,and the tutor is great with a good SOH..only another 32 weeks to go :woot:

Hi another Adobe virgin, course fee's have shot up and with the C/Crunch it's bound to affect some it should run for the length of the course as long as they start with 10 or more then they have the fees up front, but the daft beggars who have paid and not turned up will not get a refund it's in the small print;)

hi I'm book on that as well, and in the new year Advanced photography course.

Well done to every one on any courses this term hope you all achieve what you set out to do.

Kind regards All Mark

i wish i had not buncked off school so much, when i signed in i wanted to race out the door on my stick and hang around the chippy with the lads for 2 hours while the course was over;):lol::lol:then go back and get my mark.

i bumped into my old karate instructor last night who has also started an adobe course in swansea college....5 weeks long for £60 ,plus he says that the instructor isn't that familiar with CS3,so it looks like he's onto a loser.i've pointed him in the direction of the course that i'm doing,so he may well switch over...

hi yes this course is based on photo-shop 7 which is great for me and most of the tutorials in Photo Plus are photo-shop 5 6 or 7, its a great course and i am enjoying it very much, i had to miss this week as i had a hospital appointment.

Regards Mark.

Anyone come across a Lightroom course???

Try the Luminous Landscape. They do a tutorial down loadable DVD.The interplay between Jeff Schewe and Michael Reickman can be quite intriguing.

Also it's fairly inexpensive even with the £/$ not at such good rates as it was.
