Adobe CC - Camera RAW 9.5 update

messed mine up good and proper needs 3 folders fixing with permissions, done it and it still won't run ,well done Adobe

BEWARE! ... messed mine up and I had to roll back to PS 2015.0.0 and ACR 9.4 :(

Definite issue for me, even the Adobe 'level2' rep couldn't fix it ... he said it was a permissions issue but even after changing all Adobe permissions on my laptop he couldn't get it to work!

What does or doesn't it do?

For me the issue is that it has broken the 'Merge to HDR Pro' option, after going through the merging of the images it comes to the point where you choose 'Tone in ACR' and it can't do it, just returns 'Programme Error'. This worked fine in Photoshop 2015.1.2 with ACR 9.4 but updating to ACR 9.5 not only stopped it working but meant I had to roll back as explained above in order to get the process back and working.
As above Adobe said it was a Permissions issue (obviously I didn't change any permissions prior to the update) but they were unable to resolve it by changing all permissions. I would be surprised if this is the only problem that the update has caused.

Sounds grim! If you're a Windows user check you have the system restore option enabled and enough space allocated that way if another update breaks for you it's pain free to roll back.

Unfortunately Windows restore doesn't undo the changes to Creative Cloud (at least it didn't for me), you have to roll back to a previous version through the Creative Cloud Desktop.

ok i went through the permissions fix again and this time it worked.fixing Adobe's mess

When i get on my mac tomorrow i will try and put it down if it helps, only just saw your post and in bed falling asleep :)

yes i did that first and it worked, means you have to log in as a guest or admin just set it up as another user, what it does is allows Adobe LR to see LR as a new fresh setup so no thing else needs to be changed. it works
