Anyone know why my thumbnails in adobe bridge are just white squares?

I have reinstalled bridge, updated to 1.03.... downloaded 1.04 but it wont open to install.

Installed PSCS2 again as well.

have you updated camera raw to the correct version for your camera ?.

I dont know. Its not RAW's that arent showing ... its every type of photo.

It may be your files assoiations - i had a similar issue after downlading windows EXIF data programme.............. can you view thumbnails outside bridge

Try clearing down/deleteing the cache Bridge uses this migh make it regenerate the thumbnails, you can find the cache location in the preferences in Bridge.

not come across every file type not showing.

Yes..in ordinary Windows folders with photos in I can.

My Raw is 3.7 BTW.

well, thats my kh exhausted. If the squeeler gets of his broken xbox he may help.......

...and when I come out of bridge it says "Bridge Application error. The instruction at "0x00df4ce4" referenced memory at "0x02b30b08". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program.

I have uninstalled bridge completely ,,, restarted the PC,, then re-installed it too.

This is what it looks like:

Down the bottom left corner it says 37 images, but that was for the folder I tried to open first..... whichever folder I click on in that list there, the number of thumbnail boxes doesnt change at all.

Did you try deleting the caches files? sounds like they are corrupt to me

I did delete them yes, then restarted and the first file I opened had a thumbnail and then every other thereafter was white. sounds like something somewhere sort of sticks. ...... even though I can click on things and they open etc.

Try uninstalling, then open the registry and go to HKLM\Software\Adobe and look for any settings for Bridge. Take a backup of the key first, then try removing any keys that look to be Bridge related, and try a reinstall.

Thank you Mark, I will try that now.

I thought that was the answer..... I clicked a folder and 40 or so thumbnails came up! Then clicked another and they all turned white again!
When I went back to the first folder again... theyd all disapppeared and turned white again. :(

Try hitting the PC with a large hammer

it won't sort out the non showing thumbnails, but it'll make you feel a whole lot better :D

Very strange that it worked for an instant and then stopped again. I presume there's enough space for it to write a cache somewhere on the hard disk? I must admit, I'm stumped.
I had a quick look at the Adobe Knowledge Base, and found this which looks to be similar to what you're experiencing, apart from not getting an error message, and the problem being listed as a Mac-only thing.
Other than this, I'm afraid I'm stumped.
