Adobe Bridge (CS4) question

When opening a .CR2 file through Bridge, all goes according to plan, ACR opens, adjustments made, and then pushed through to CS4.

Even if I discard the changes made in CS4 and close the file without saving, when I return to Bridge, the .CR2 file now appears as it did when I made the adjustments in ACR and the original version of the RAW file appears to have vanished.

Is this normal for Bridge? I've moved up from Elements Organiser, and this never used to affect the original .CR2 file.

Is it a setting in Bridge, or does it just work differently?

I have noticed that the images I push through to CS4 then have a little grey circle next to them when I return to Bridge, but I can't work out what that is. Is it to indicate grouped images?

Help!!!

(Please) :D

I'm still using Bridge CS3, but it sounds much the same.

With mine, if you make changes in ACR, your image in Bridge alters accordingly. If you want to get rid of that, you can right click and "develop settings>clear settings" or something.

The little grey circles give you an idea of the changes you've made in ACR, I think it tells you if you've cropped and if you've altered the exposure of the image in any way (and probably more I've never seen).

I quite like it because if you open the image in ACR again, it remembers the settings you last used.

ACR saves the edits in the .xmp sidecar file which Bridge then reads to update the preview.
