hi guys, Im wondering why adobe doesnt list ANY tokina lens profiles for the lens correction?
I own a tokina 11-16 f2.8. Wonderfull lens but at 11 it need correction. Im not able to create a profile myself.
So I went for adobe lens profile downloader to be dissapointed even more.
The profiles for the tokina 11-16 are for Nikon D300, not for D7000:(
Cant understand adobe! I dont think that tokina is a smaller manufacturer than the majority of manufacturers listed in photoshop cs5. ;(

I thought that users supplied the lens/camera profiles. But even if they don't supply them all/any, as with any situations where there are a lot of variations, the most common combinations will supplied first. There are a lot of D300/S's floating about, so they will be supplied before the D7000. Tokina are not a major lens manufacturer, being behind the camera's own brands (which most people will have) and then Sigma. Add to that a lens which is not a mainstream high selling lens like the 11-16mm, and it is understandable why your lens/camera combination may not (yet) be supported.

They do offer the lens profile creator software, but if few people own the lens/camera combination you have, and those that don't have the inclination to do the profiling, then there may never be profile available.

Frustrating I know, but I think that is your reason.

And there is always the option to do it yourself if the problem is big enough. I considered it when the lens profiles appeared and my camera/lens combination were not available, but felt it was not that big a problem when I looked at the Lens Profile software. ;) Luckily profiles have been created for my camera/lenses. :D

Lucky indeed. ;) But as I said, it wasn't available initially.

Have you tried an internet search for profiles?

There may be someone who may have done the profile, but not uploaded it to Adobe.

Ok..I tried and found the profiles quite poor  a simple preset from manual correction works fine most of the time :1st:

If you look at the way these camera profiles are produced ( The way Adobe recommend) it's very complex and time consuming. They can't do every lens/ camera combination available. They are doing the most popular ones first, plus in many cases rely on the equipment manufacturers supplying the equipment for these profiles.
