Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me, I use Lightroom to process my RAW images and whilst I can add frames and copyright information to the pictures in the Print Module I can't seem to export them as Jpegs with them on.

Can this be done in Lightroom or do I need to use some other software when I have exported them?

Also, one more question, what dpi should I be looking to use to get prints at around 15*10 or bigger?

Sorry to be a bit thick. :bang:

oh no the DPI question! ARGH!!! :p

I havent used Lightroom enough to answer that question, but fair few people on here have, so hopefully they will be able to help.

For prints that size I would say you would be wanting 300dpi, but then there is the whole ppi (pixels per inch) and stuff and it gets very confusing, for me at least. But as far as I understand the kinda standard for a good print is 300dpi you can get away with less on a small print as people might not look at it so closely.

Dunno about light room, but generally, if you're using a Dslr with 6mp or more you can go up to a3 safely and higher if it's a sharp image or you've more Mp.

I've printed 40x30 from my d70 and it looked fine. Ok, maybe not if you put your nose right up to it but then you can't see the whole picture anyway. D'OH!

240dpi is fine for larger prints, from my d200 that would give a 16x10 print.

From my 20D (8Mp) I've done a 30x20 and you couldn't tell it was a digital print.

Looked ace!

All the big mainstream sites and chains print at a fixed resolution and anything that is not at the required size will either be down/upsampled or cropped/printed with a border.

Normally you would want 300dpi though some places use 254dpi at larger sizes. Check with your preferred print lab and see what they use.

Michael.
