Adding a border in CS4.

I've just watched a couple of tutorials on youtube but they are a bit hit and miss with regard to size of the border.
How do I add a narrow border of 2 pixels on each side of the photograph?

select all of the picture, go to edit and select stroke. when the box pops up set pixel size and colour, then de select. easy realy.


edit. make sure the image is flattened following pp

and not done on background layer
Also you can increase canvas size how ever much you want with what ever colour you want
